Senergy Continues on the Acquisition Trail
Leading energy consultancy Senergy has made its second acquisition of 2008 by joining forces with ISIS Energy Limited (ISIS). The Aberdeen and Bath based marine geotechnology and engineering consultancy was formed in 2005 and has rapidly established a track record of delivering high quality solutions across all aspects of marine geotechnology.
The acquisition of ISIS follows that of Floyd & Associates (now Senergy Floyds) in January 2008 and continues the growth of Aberdeen-based Senergy as a global diversified energy services company.
ISIS’s capabilities add to and complement the growing Senergy business. In particular ISIS brings geotechnical capability across all Senergy divisions.
The newly merged company will be known as Senergy ISIS and will continue to operate from its existing office in Bath, with the Aberdeenshire office moving to a shared office facility with Senergy Floyds in Alford. The three ISIS Energy founding directors Peter Taylor, Mark Finch and Giles Thompson will continue in their current roles..
The two companies will form the backbone of a new Survey & GeoEngineering division alongside the existing Oil & Gas and Alternative Energy divisions. The Senergy group has increased revenues from £25m to over £50m in the last year and continues to grow its business organically and through acquisition.
James McCallum, Senergy Holdings’ chief executive, said: “The acquisition of ISIS further develops Senergy’s core skills in the oil and gas and alternative energy markets. The skill set that ISIS possesses complements that of Senergy Floyds and allows us to offer best-in-class geoscience and geotechnical engineering solutions to our clients. We are pleased to welcome such a well respected organisation into our group”.
Commenting on the acquisition, Peter Taylor, Senergy ISIS Director said: “We are delighted to be joining the Senergy group and to have the opportunity to develop a fully integrated capability together with Senergy Floyds. We see huge potential to use our knowledge and experience of shallow soils to provide our clients with innovative, value focused solutions across a broad spectrum of the offshore industry in both the hydrocarbons and alternative energy sectors.”
