Technical Staff Jobs in Norway
Norway – Senior Well Engineers, Reservoir Engineers, Geologists, Geophysicists, Production Technologists
Senergy Limited is one of the longest-established and most successful subsurface and wells consultancies operating from Aberdeen, with offices in London, Kuala Lumpur and Stavanger. We have an excellent reputation and our clients include the major companies such as BP and Shell as well as independents and new-start companies. Our staff includes geophysicists, geologists, petrophysicists, reservoir engineers and well engineers who work in integrated project teams, either from our offices or within client offices. Senergy has ambitious growth plans and it is the intention of the Board of Directors to steer the company towards a public stock market flotation within 2-5 years.
On 6th July 2007 Senergy merged with PGL, another Aberdeen-based consulting company with expertise in exploration as well as development geoscience and reservoir engineering. The company also has a substantial business in software development with two products, Interactive Petrophysics™ and ODM™. Following completion of the merger the combined company now has staff of around 170 people with revenues of about £30 million.
Senergy has been working in Norway for around eigtheen months and demand for our services has exceeded expectations. We have delivered integrated subsurface field redevelopment studies for a major oil company and we are providing integrated subsurface and wells field management services for a large independent company. Our people are involved in all aspects of the business from subsurface evaluation and definition of opportunities through to detailed planning and execution of wells with full responsibility for the safe and efficient delivery of the projects.
Senergy has recently been awarded a frame contract by Petoro for the provision of subsurface support services and we announced recently the award of a contract by Noreco for the provision of drilling project management services. In addition we are aware of other companies who will require such services and will go to tender soon.
On May 2nd Kjetil Fagervik joined Senergy as Country Manager for our Norwegian business. Kjetil was previously with Schlumberger. He will have overall responsibility for the growth of the Norwegian business and we are keen to recruit other professionals to help Kjetil in this early stage in the company’s development in Norway.
We wish to grow our business by recruiting more technical people locally and by broadening our client base. Senergy views Norway as one of its most important markets for growth in the future. We need more technical people with experience in well engineering as well as in all subsurface disciplines and also in production technology. If you like to work in a smaller organisation and enjoy variety and challenging technical work then Senergy could be for you.
Senergy offers an excellent remuneration package including profit-related pay and share options to all staff in addition to a highly competitive salary.

You will be able to demonstrate good analytical reservoir engineering skills, ideally gained with an operator. Experience of dynamic reservoir modeling and operational experience are important.
Both positions require experience of at least some of the following:
- Decline Curve Analysis
- Material balance modeling
- Dynamic reservoir modeling
- Production forecasting
- Integrated asset modeling
- Analysis of PVT and SCAL data
- Welltest interpretation
- Oil and gas reservoir performance
- Some experience of Offshore Operations would be advantageous
- Experience of industry standard modeling packages including Eclipse, VIP, Petroleum Experts IPM suite, Saphir and/or PanSystem, OFM
For the Senior role you will also have experience of coaching and mentoring junior members of staff.
