What's New

Interactive Petrophysics is leading the way in the petrophysical software market with the release of IP3.4 bringing a range of enhanced functionality to software already adopted by a significant number of companies as their petrophysical application standard. The successful partnership with Schlumberger Information Systems continues and the launch of the Petrel plug-in this year further enhances this unique relationship by allowing the exchange of well, curve and zone data between IP3.4 and Petrel 2007

This latest release IP3.4 offers a range of user-focused additions and improvements enhancing both the quality and efficiency of petrophysical analyses. Of the new features, here are a few of the highlights :

A new Neural Network module

  • Offers users an alternative approach to curve construction enabling prediction of a range of data including Core Permeability, Log Data and Facies Logs.
  • Flexibility in training zones
  • Modules can be run on multiple wells

A New Laminated and Shaley Sand Fluid Substitution Module bringing functionality developed by Chris Skelt which enables the user to quantify the thin bed effect

Structural Changes to the Database

  • These permit storage of data at different sample frequencies and offers user-level security for each well.
  • Customisation of curve sets including different and irregular depth intervals
  • Data loading of correct step
  • Automatic Extrapolation between sets
  • Set and Curve names extended

In addition to the new modules and features described above there have been a comprehensive range of enhancements to existing features and an overall improvement to the user experience. Enhancements include :

  • Customizable log plot headers which facilitate hard-copy routines
  • Pickett Plot available as part of the Cross plotting functionality
  • Dip Picking allowing the user to pick sedimentary and structural dips from image logs
  • A History module giving a work flow log and audit trail for each curve
  • Zone linking facilitating consistency in workflow
